Bob joined Business Hunter as CEO in January 2017. He is responsible for driving the organisational strategy and program of thought leadership, policy development and advocacy. He also oversees the delivery of events, networking and member development programs.
Prior to joining Business Hunter, Bob led the Hunter Development Corporation (HDC) for over five years. This coincided with a period of significant change in the region and a refocusing of State Government priorities and investment to facilitate the revitalisation of the Newcastle CBD. Bob also led Lake Macquarie's economic development organisation, Dantia.
Amanda most recently held the position of Corporate Affairs Manager at the University of Newcastle, where she led corporate issues as well as communication and stakeholder engagement for some of the University’s major infrastructure projects including the Honeysuckle City Campus Precinct and the University’s Central Coast Clinical School, and Central Coast Research Institute.
Amanda has extensive experience in strategic communication, media, member relations, and policy and governance. Her career includes close to ten years in executive advisory roles in higher education, as well as similar roles across government, business, health and not-for-profit sectors. Business Hunter welcomes Amanda and looks forward to her contribution to the interests of Business Hunter, their members and the region.
Alex joins Business Hunter having spent the past several years launching and building his own business, ASR Recruitment. Alex’s experience and insights gained through business ownership and member of Hunter business community means he has a unique and specialised understanding of the context of business in the region, and also the valuable role our organisation plays in connecting and advocating for local businesses to all levels of government and industry stakeholders.
We look forward to Alex meeting the Hunter First community, using skills gained in executive leadership and consulting positions across Australia and Asia. He is passionate about using his networks, his time and his abilities to contribute to the growth and development of the Hunter’s businesses.
Annalisa Ceccato joined Business Hunter in October 2021 as the Events and Marketing Coordinator. She is responsible for the organisation and management of successful Business Hunter events and promotion of the Business Hunter brand.
Annalisa has a strong background in events and engagement as well as having a big part of the sporting community while at Northern NSW Football.
Prior to joining Business Hunter, Annalisa worked as the Marketing and Events Manager at South Newcastle Rugby League Club.
Annalisa graduated from The University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Communications majoring in Public Relations.
Sue Elvers is the first point of contact with Business Hunter. She provides support to the Business Hunter team in administration, office management, marketing, sales, events and customer service activities.
Sue is also responsible for accounts payable, receivable and debtor management.
Sue has been with the Business Hunter since 2012 and is a font of information on memberships and organisational processes, with a depth of experience in member services and office management.
